Become A Member of Caring Advocates
All members of Caring Advocates receive these FIVE BENEFITS:
- A 55-minute audio CD that introduces the legal and peaceful alternative to "Physician-Assisted Suicide," and how to avoid prolonged indignity & dependency of dementia; two poignant memoirs are also included.
- When requested, we will send you (for what it costs us), a TRAK (Thirst Reducing Aid Kit);
- An e-mail Newsletter and Events Calendar; and the opportunity to participate in on-line discussion forums;
- Opportunity to join a Trusting Circle for Creating a Values Memoir and/or a Trusting Circle for Caring Advocates Proxies;
- Access to consult our staff for advice & support.
The Caring Advocates staff knows that it is an awesome loving duty to serve as another's Proxy, to make life-or-death determining decisions if s/he no longer can. Often this responsibility falls on the shoulders of caring individuals with little or no prior experience. --That's when many appreciate the opportunity to consult with professionals who have experience in making end-of-life decisions. And that is why when people ask others to be their Proxy or alternate Proxy, they provide a gift membership to Caring Advocates. The staff of Caring Advocates is drawn from the fields of bioethics, medicine, psychiatry, spirituality and religion, and the law. (Click here for more information about us.)
Note: The professional team of Caring Advocates is there for you when you first create documents for your end-of-life decisions, when you wish to revise them, and when it comes time for you to make decisions for others as their designated Proxy. Those who join at a higher level make it possible for those who have less funds available to still receive our services. We offer:
- Individual annual or life-time memberships;
- Family annual or life-time memberships; and
- Organization or corporation affiliated memberships (see below).
To explain the last option, Organization or corporation affiliated membershipsÃÂ: Like many organizations, we offer membership discounts to established groups whose goals are not related to end-of-life wishes. In addition, we are willing to cooperate with other organizations who have engaged in political battles to change present state laws to provide greater options for residents. Caring Advocates does not engage is political battles. Instead, we focus on providing service, education, and research. Our goal is to quietly but strategically transcend such conflicts. Other organizations may wish to the opportunity to consult us for our clinical, legal, and pastoral leadership while retaining their own identify. For them, Caring Advocates offers "Affiliated Organization Memberships."
